Purpose, Not Position: Building Power With the State of the People

This year, my focus has been clear: community, impact, and purpose over position.

That is exactly why being involved in State of the People has meant so much to me. From the Marathon, to the multi-city tour, to the National Assembly in Baltimore, Congressional Black Caucus, and now the launch of SOTP-TV’s The Signal Live, every moment has reinforced why this work matters.

What made each stop powerful wasn’t the stage or the spotlight; it was the people. The organizers, the truth-tellers, the community builders, and everyday leaders who show up because they believe our collective future is worth the work.

I’ve never been driven by titles or fluff. I’m driven by impact, investing in my community, strengthening movements, and helping create spaces where voices are heard and solutions are shaped. Purpose, not position, isn’t a tagline for me; it’s a compass.

The Signal Live reflects that commitment, real conversations, real accountability, and real connection to the people we’re meant to serve.

Grateful for the trust, the collaboration, and the work still ahead, and truly looking forward to what 2026 will bring with this powerful collective. The mission continues, and the focus remains exactly where it belongs….with the State of The People.
